Auszeichnung für Dr. Peter Levine

Auszeichnung für Peter A. Levine

22. – 25. Oktober 2010 an der JFK University in Pleasant Hill, Kalifornien.
„This fall, I will be presented with the ‚Lifetime Achievement Award‘  from the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP). This is a prestigious honor, given to individuals who have been pioneers in the development of Body oriented Psychotherapy. Previous recipients of this award include: Alexander Lowen and John Pierrakos (the co-developers of Bioenergetics) and Stanley Kelemann. I am humbled to be selected to be in their company.
I will be receiving this award (and delivering the keynote address) at JFK University in Pleasant Hill near San Francisco at the bi-annual meeting of the USABP on October 22 – 24th. This conference also provides the SE community with a wonderful opportunity to interface with other body psychotherapists and traditions. More information can be found from their website at
When the USABP selection committee informed me of my nomination, I was a bit reticent to accept it, as two of the previous recipients have died not long after receiving the award. In a humorous exchange with the committee, they reassured me that I would be the youngest person yet to receive it. I therefor could still count on many productive years as an elder; to teach, to write and to play. I decided to accept it now, rather than later, posthumously. All kidding aside, this is a great honor and oppotunity for the advancement of SE. I am excited by the timing of the word in conjunction with the publication release of my new book. It will be an important recognition of SE as a pillar in the field of body psychotherapy. “
